A 10-minute monthly check-up for your website

Websites rarely break all at once. They drift: an old price here, last year's holiday hours there. A short monthly check keeps yours honest.

Put a recurring reminder in your calendar, make a coffee and work through this list. Most months it takes ten minutes; most of the fixes take less.

Accuracy

  1. Opening hours. Do they match reality, including upcoming holidays?
  2. Prices and menus. Anything changed since last month?
  3. Contact details. Phone, email, address and map pin all correct?
  4. Team and services. Anyone joined or left? Any service you no longer offer?

Freshness

  1. Your home page headline. Does it still describe what you most want to sell this season?
  2. Photos. Swap in one recent photo. Real, current photos build trust.
  3. News or blog. One short post a month is plenty to show you're active.

Health

  1. Check it on your phone. Most of your visitors will.
  2. Send yourself a test inquiry. Make sure the form still reaches your inbox.
  3. Search for your business. Is the page title and description what you'd want people to read?
The best website isn't the newest one. It's the one that's always right.
